The Effect of Bio-Coal Agglomeration and High-Fluidity Coking Coal on Bio-Coke Quality

Metallurgical coke with high strength and low reactivity is used in the ironmaking blast furnace. Replacement of some coking coal bio-coal was shown to result lower higher produced due introduction reactive carbon ash components catalyzing Boudouard reaction, but also lowering blend fluidity, which influences negatively. The current study aims investigate possibility counteract negative impact from addition on fluidity by using high-fluidity agglomeration before addition. Original micro-agglomerate added at 10%, 15% 20% blend. influence bio-coals measured CO2 a thermogravimetric analyzer. Selected cokes bio-cokes were technical scale, their standard tests. effect dilatation adding or crushed agglomerates blends an optical dilatometer. results show that containing agglomerated bio-coal, max. contraction increased, whereas opposite occurs original bio-coal. overlapping between occurring during dilation, affects dilatation. bio-coke has comparison without coal. as CRI/CSR tests, shows similar trend regarding reactivity, analysis, laboratory scale.
